Kary Schaefer

General Manager of Freightliner/Detroit Product Marketing & Strategy, Freightliner
Kary Schaefer is the General Manager of Product Strategy and Marketing for Daimler Trucks North America. She is responsible for platform strategy, market development, brand management, marketing communications and marketing operations for Freightliner, Western Star and Detroit product lines which serve class 6-8 on-highway and vocational truck market segments.  Kary is a 21-year veteran of DTNA holding increasing roles of responsibility throughout her tenure in engineering, product planning and marketing.  She also has experience in the aerospace industry, working on development of autopilot and sensor systems for manned and unmanned aerial vehicles.  She is a CDL-licensed driver and currently serves on the board of directors for Women in Trucking.  In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing and trail running in the mountains near her home in Portland, Oregon.
